Khalsa College and Public School Contribute Relief Materials for Flood Victims

AMRITSAR: The teachers and staff members of historic Khalsa College Amritsar (KCA) and Khalsa College Public School (KCPS), GT Road contributed relief materials and cash amount for the residents of flood affected areas. Khalsa College Principal Dr. Atam Singh Randhawa presented a cheque of Rs. 2.35 lakhs to Deputy Commissioner Sakshi Sahni at Ajnala while and KCPS Principal AS Gill flagged off the buses carrying ration and other food items.

Khalsa College Governing Council has asked Principals to step forward to extend help in the time of crises and other Principals would also be sending contributions in the coming times. KCA had been on the forefront whenever any natural disaster or calamity like this strikes, said Dr.Randhawa. He said that during the 1947 partition also the College played an important role and made a significant contribution in providing accommodation and langar to the Hindu-Sikh refugees who came from Pakistan.

DC Sahni thanked the management, teachers and staff for the support given to the flood victims and said that the efforts made for the progress of the society and nation are always remembered. College Registrar Dr. Davinder Singh, Prof. Hira Singh, representing Teacher Union were present.
