MOHALI: Rayat Bahra University hosted a special information session by the Indian Air Force (IAF) for its students under the banner of the Directorate of Induction and Selection in Holistic Approach (DISHA). The initiative aimed at providing detailed insights into the recruitment process, career opportunities, and guidance for becoming an officer in the Air Force.
The session commenced with Prof. (Dr.) Sanjay Kumar, Group Vice-Chancellor, welcoming the dignitaries and attendees. The Air Force team comprised Wing Commander Anshuman Samajpati, Squadron Leader Chakravarti Lakhawat, Flight Lieutenant Nikhil Pathar, and Flying Officer Harsh Sharma.
Wing Commander Anshuman Samajpati shared an overview of the role of officers, training modules, and career development prospects in the Air Force. Squadron Leader Chakravarti Lakhawat elaborated on the organizational structure and functioning of different IAF departments. Flight Lieutenant Nikhil Pathar highlighted career paths available in technical and stressed the significance of physical and mental preparedness for aspiring officers.
Students were given in-depth information on the recruitment process, selection criteria, written examinations, interviews, and medical evaluations. To further engage the students, Air Force officials also organized a bus exhibition showcasing aircraft models and providing technical details.
The interactive session witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and proved to be both inspiring and informative, motivating many towards pursuing a career in the Indian Air Force.
