AMRITSAR: During her visit today to pay obeisance at Sachkhand Sri Harmandar Sahib along with ministers of her cabinet, Delhi Chief Minister (CM) Mrs Rekha Gupta met the Acting Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib, Giani Kuldip Singh Gargajj, at the Secretariat of Sri Akal Takht Sahib.
During the interaction, Jathedar Giani Kuldip Singh Gargajj told Delhi CM Mrs Rekha Gupta that the case of Bandi Singh (Sikh political prisoner) Prof. Devinderpal Singh Bhullar has been pending with her government and that his release could be ensured with just her one signature. He said that former Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal of Aam Aadmi Party kept Prof. Devinderpal Singh’s case pending, and the present BJP government has a good opportunity to release him from prison.
He added that whenever the nation’s security is at stake, it is the youth of Punjab who stand at the forefront and make the greatest sacrifices. The issue raised by Jathedar Gargajj was listened to attentively by the Delhi CM, who assured that efforts would be made to resolve the matter.
