AMRITSAR: Under the directions of Commissioner Gulpreeet Singh Aulakh, Joint Commissioner Dr. Jai Inder Singh conducted a surprise inspection of government land located near Sri Guru Ramdas Hospital, in front of Gurdwara Shaheedan Sahib.

Previously, several complaints had been received by the Commissioner of the Municipal Corporation, Amritsar, regarding illegal encroachment on government land by Baba Bhuri Wale. Upon inspection, it was found that despite warnings, construction was still ongoing. A wall had been erected to occupy the land, and a borewell was being dug. A Bolero vehicle belonging to Baba Bhuri Wale was also found at the spot.

The inspection team included Assistant Commissioner Vishal Vidhawan and Estate Officer Dharaminderjeet Singh.

The Joint Commissioner ordered the Estate Officer to initiate immediate legal action against Baba Bhuri Wale and to demolish the illegal wall. The construction workers were also instructed to stop all work immediately.

The Joint Commissioner stated that while Baba Bhuri Wale represents a religious organization, it is unfortunate that such an organization is involved in the illegal occupation of government land.

He mentioned that, based on previous complaints, illegal staircases constructed by the same group had already been demolished and they were previously warned not to proceed with any further construction. Yet, the organization has shown disregard for government orders and proceeded with unauthorized construction and borewell digging, both of which were immediately halted.

The Commissioner has directed the Estate Officer to carry out swift legal action and to demolish all illegal construction without delay.
