Gurdaspur Officials meet students returned from Ukraine and trapped there

GURDASPUR: Deputy Commissioner Gurdaspur Mr. Mohammad Ishfaq has thanked Deputy Commissioner Gurdaspur on behalf of the students and parents who have returned to India for their continuous contacts and efforts with the students and their parents stranded in Ukraine. Today, on the orders of Deputy Commissioner Gurdaspur, various officials of the district returned and met the parents of the students stranded in Ukraine.

Deputy Commissioner Gurdaspur Mr. Mohammad Ishfaq said that 46 students from District Gurdaspur were stranded in Ukraine out of which 36 students had returned safely and efforts were being made by the government to repatriate the remaining students.

The Deputy Commissioner further said that in this difficult time the parents of the students stranded in Ukraine have been contacted by the district administration from door to door and the authorities have been continuously sharing all the information with the family members.
He further said that the students who have not yet returned to India have been in constant touch with the families of the students by the district administration. He hoped that soon all the students would return home safely.

It may be mentioned here that District Revenue Officer Gurmeet Singh, District Education Officer (S) Harpal Singh Sandhanwalia, District Education Officer (P) Madan Lal Sharma, Sukhwinder Singh District Welfare Officer, Komalpreet Kaur CDPO, BDPO, District Various officials, including the Town Planner and the City Council Officer, met with the parents of the students and assured them of all possible help.
