CHANDIGARH: Punjab Government today appointed 1992 batch OPS officern Gaurav Yadav as acting Director General of Police (DGP) in place of V.K.Bhawra who proceeded on two months leave.
Gaurav Yadav is already working as special principal Secretary of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. Punjab Government was not happy with V.K.Bhawra due to deteriorating law and order position in the state. Bhawra was appointed DGP during Congress Government headed by Charanjit Singh Channi.
Chief Minister has forwarded Bhawra's request for central depuration. Hus wife senior IAS Anjali Bhawra is already on deputation with center.
