Bishnoi clained Congress leaders helped Sidhu to create his own gang
CHANDIGARH: An interview with Jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi aired by a TV Channel has put question mark over the security inside the Jails. The 57 minute long interview telecast by ABP Sanjha has taken the Police and Punjab Jail authorities by surprise.
Though Punjab DGP Dinkar Gupta has asserted htat interview was not recorded in any jail, the fact remains that how and where the interview was recorded. Bishnoi is presently jailed in high security Bathinda jail.
Gupta has clarified that Bishnoi was handed over to them by Rajasthan police on March 9 last. He was under watch of jail authorities since then and mobile jammers are installed in the jail. Gupta insisted that the video which is of HD quality was recorded outside Punjab. Was the inteview conducted during Bishnoi's detention in Rajasthan jail? The mystry remains.
Lawrence Bishnoi in his interview with senior journalist Jogwinder Patial had tried to justify his action of killing Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala and also thretened to kill Bollywood actor Salman Khan if he would not apolozise for hunting deers in Rajasthan during a film shooting. He said that Bishnoi community is angry with Salman Khan. If courts failed to deliver justice they will handle it their own way.
Bishnoi said that Sidju Moosewala was killed because he was promoting and sheltering rival gangs and also trying to become a don of himself. He said that Sidhu Moosewala was behind the murders of two of his close friends Vicky Mindukhera and Gurlal Brar, brother of Goldy Brar. He allegeds that the then Chief Ministers of Congress (Capt Amarinder Singh and Charanjit Singh Channi) and Raja Warring were helping Sidhu Moosewala and he was not questioned by police even though his name cropped up in the murders of Mindukhera and Gurlal Brar.
Bishnoi said that though he was in jail, the planning of killing Sidhu Moosewala was done by Goldi Brar (Living in Canada) and his nephew Sachin Bishnoi. He said that in his absence Goldi Brar was looking after activities of his gang. He said that Goldy Brar was like a brother and he was forced to enter into world of crime after his brother was killed by his rival Bambiha gang.
Lawrence Bishnoi also attacked father of Sidhu Moosewala and accused him of nourishing his political interests after killing of his son. His son had died but he is holding rallies. He said that what justice he wanted when already over 50 persons have been arrested. He said that Sidhu's father is a Congress man and wanted to contest elections. He also pointed out that Sidhu had contested from Mansa on Congress party ticket and people in his own village did'nt vote for him. He had lost by highest margin against AAP candidate which shows his contact with masses. He said Sidhu had promoted gang culture and never spoke against social evils.
He told the TV channel that he had reached to media to tell his point of view because lot of negative propaganda was being done against him. He said that he was arrested in 2014 in a case related to fight between students in Punjab Unviersity where he was leader in SOPU. He said that he was arrested as student and branded as gangster. He was in jail for nine years and had no social interction. He said that he was not involved in any case of demanding ransom.
Most interestingly Bishnoi said that he was a nationalist and opposed to idea of Khalistan. he said that he was against division of country. He also said that he had no intention of joining politics. He said that he was a victim and his brother was arrested without any involvement in any crime. His brother had later fled to USA. He said that he wish ti run a cow shelter after release from jail.
The revelations by Bishnoi have attracted sharp criticism by opposition leaders and family of Sidhu Moosewala. While opposition leaders are demanding CBU inquiry into conducting interview from inside the jail, father of Sidhu Moosewala has claimed it is a conspiracy to defame Sidhu Moosewala. He said that he would approach High Court to seek inquiry into the intervies.
The ruling AAP has not made any comment on the interview of gangster but the DGP has said that it was conspiracy to defame Punjab.
