NEW DELHI: Former president of Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee(PPCC) today joined Bhartiya Janta Party(BJP) here at BJP headquarter in the presence of party president JP Nadha.
Jakhar had few days back resigned from the Congress party in a strong worded live message on facebook. He was unhappy for denying him the opportunity of becoming Chief Minister after removal of Capt Amarinder Singh. He had blamed AICC general secretary Ambika Soni for misguiding the party president Soni Gandhi about successor of Capt Amarinder Singh.
Jakhar has grudge that he was denied the post being a Hindu. Ambika Soni had reportedly suggested to make a Sikh CM of Punjab. Congress had made a dalit leader and Chamkaur Sahib MLA Charanjit Singh Channi as Chief Minister. The Congress lost the assembly elections. Jakhar was not happy the way he was given show cause notice for speaking against the party decision.
JP Nadha welcomed Jakhar in the party.
