80th Independence Day Celebrated with Patriotism and Enthusiasm at Brookfield International School
MOHALI: The 80th Independence Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm, patriotic spirit and pride at Brookfield International School, Siswan Road. The students participated wholeheartedly in the celebrations and made the occasion truly memorable through their outstanding performances and active participation.
The celebrations began with a soulful rendition of “Vande Mataram”, which filled the entire atmosphere with patriotism and national pride. This was followed by an inspiring street play (Nukkad Natak) that conveyed a meaningful message about the nation and the spirit of freedom.
The celebrations continued with vibrant folk dance performances showcasing the rich cultural heritage of Punjab, Himachal Pradesh and Haryana. Students also expressed their love and respect for the nation through beautiful poetry recitations and speeches. A lively Punjabi folk dance, Giddha, added further colour, energy and enthusiasm to the celebrations.
On the occasion, School President Manav Singla shared his thoughts and said that freedom is the result of the sacrifices made by our great freedom fighters. He emphasised that it is our responsibility to preserve these values and contribute to the progress of our nation. He added that such events play an important role in strengthening the spirit of patriotism among the younger generation.
The programme concluded with an inspiring address by Vandana Bansal, who addressed the gathering and extended her warm wishes to everyone on the occasion of Independence Day.
The celebrations were a beautiful blend of patriotism, culture, talent and unity, with the students showcasing their enthusiasm and dedication in a remarkable manner.
