Shamrock School Celebrates 80th Independence Day with Patriotic Spirit and Enthusiasm
MOHALI: The 80th Independence Day of India was celebrated with great pride, patriotic fervour and enthusiasm at Shamrock Senior Secondary School, Sector 69, Mohali. The celebrations commenced with an inspiring address by the Head Girl, followed by the National Anthem. School Principal Parneet Sohal unfurled the Tricolour with great honour and pride, after which the National Anthem was sung.
Addressing the gathering, School Principal Parneet Sohal said that independence was the result of the relentless struggle and sacrifices of the freedom fighters. She emphasised that it was the foremost duty of every citizen to value this freedom and work with dedication towards the progress, unity and integrity of the nation. She said that children are the future of the country and expressed confidence that, with their hard work and honesty, they would take India to even greater heights.

School Chairman A.S. Bajwa, in his address, highlighted the importance of Independence and motivated the students to uphold the values of unity, responsibility and patriotism. The cultural programme that followed featured soulful musical performances, classical dance, Zumba and Bhangra, along with Hindi poetry, an English speech and a skit. A poignant short film created by the Shamrock Media Club beautifully portrayed the sacrifices of the freedom fighters. The film added an emotional dimension to the celebrations and turned the occasion into a memorable tribute to the spirit of India.
Adding further colour to the celebrations, the Gourmet Club set up food stalls offering delicious delicacies for students, staff members and guests, making the day a memorable experience for everyone.
