JAITO: A press release issued by the Ferozepur Railway Division of Northern Railway on Tuesday stated that the Ferozepur Division's ticket checking team is conducting continuous ticket checking in trains to curb the practice of unauthorized passengers traveling on trains.
During ticket checking in November 2025, the division's ticket checking staff and chief ticket inspectors found a total of 44, 715 passengers traveling without tickets or irregularly, and collected approximately ₹3.16 crore in fines from them. The Ferozepur Division's ticket checking revenue during November 2025 was 10 percent higher than the same period last year and 24 percent more than the target set by Headquarters, New Delhi. Regular checks are conducted at the division's main stations to maintain cleanliness and to prevent the public from littering at stations and to create awareness about cleanliness. As a result, in November, more than ₹64, 000 was collected from 380 passengers for littering on station premises (under the Anti-Littering Act).
