AMRITSAR: In connection with an incident in which remarks were made against the reverence and respect of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji in the presence of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji during a Gurmat programme held recently, Gurjant Singh of Barnala has been summoned to Sri Akal Takht Sahib to submit his written clarification.
As per the directions of the Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib, Giani Kuldip Singh Gargajj, Gurjant Singh has been directed to appear in person at the Secretariat of Sri Akal Takht Sahib on February 9, 2026, at 10:00 am, and present his clarification before Jathedar Giani Kuldip Singh Gargajj.
It is clarified here that no individual has any right to speak against the reverence and respect of the highly revered Sikh Gurus or to attempt to undermine their respect. Such conduct cannot be tolerated under any circumstances by Sri Akal Takht Sahib or by the entire Khalsa Panth.
