Family members of the martyrs of Saragarhi honoured

AMRITSAR: A function was organized by the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee at Gurdwara Saragarhi Sahib in memory of the martyrs of the Saragarhi war. Bhogs of Sri Akhand Path Sahib were offered on the occasion and Bhai Harpinder Singh, the ragi of Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib, made the audience listen to Gurbani Kirtan.

Giani Jagtar Singh Ludhiana, Additional Chief Granthi of Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib paid homage to the martyrs of Saragarhi.
Recalling these 21 brave Sikhs who fought against 10, 000 Afghans, he said that there was a long list of martyrs in the Sikh community from which the present generation should be inspired to join the history of religion.

He said that every year a function was organized by the SGPC at Gurdwara Saragarhi Sahib to pay homage to these martyrs. Family members of the martyrs were also present on the occasion, who were honored with Guru Blessings.
