Faculty Development Programme on Technological Advancement in Education, Management and Law concluded at GBD University

AMRITSAR: “Technology in education is for sharing knowledge, building learning communities and creating a culture of professionalism” opined experts at the Six days online Faculty Development Programme (FDP) “Technological Advancement in Education, Management and Law” organized by the School of Education ( under the scheme of PMMMNMTT) in collaboration with Ideal Institute of Management and Technology, Delhi under the able and dynamic leadership of Prof. (Dr.) Jaspal Singh Sandhu, Vice Chancellor. Over seventy participants from various reputed Institutions and diverse parts of India collaborated on the virtual platform for knowledge sharing and assimilation with the best experts of the country.

Prof. (Dr.) Deepa Sikand Kauts, Dean, Faculty of Education of the University welcomed the chief guest, faculty members and the participants at the valedictory session. She shared that in education, technology can be life-changer, a game changer for children who are both in school and out of school. It is thrrough technology that we can bridge the gap.

Prof (Dr) K. G. Suresh Vice Chancellor Makhanlal Chaturvedi University, Bhopal graced the occasion as the chief guest of the valedictory session. While adressing the participants, he very rightly remarked that the relevance of technology is when we use it to reach the unreached. He further added that the objective of technology in education is to provube access to education and during the pandemic we realised the impotrtance of tecnology on mass scale. It was stressed that we should work for academic enhancement through collaboration in this technological era and teachers as active participants in this revolution can bring maximum changes. Prof. Suresh also mentioned how technology has made us realise to focus on arbitrariness rather than litigation. He appreciated the organisers on taking up this relevant topic for deliberations and congratulated for the csuccessful completion of this FDP.

Prof (Dr.) Amit Kauts, Project Coordinator, School of Education presented a brief report of all the sessions to give the chief guest a glimpse of all the activities undertaken during these six days FDP. He highlighted that the objective of organising such programmes is to develop capacity building of teachers as empowered teachers can only help in improving the quality of education. Prof. Kauts also shared that 15, 000 teachers across the diisciplines from various parts of the country have benefited from the programmes organised under SOE.

Dr Shailja Khosla, Sr. Assistant Professor, IIMT, Delhi, also presented a report of all the technical sessions. The participants also shared their reflections during the valedictory session and expressed their gratitude to the organizers for arranging a team of finest experts from all over the country.

A structured schedule of interactive technical sessions was conducted to facilitate the conduct of Workshop. The technical sessions covered topics like Realizing Aspiration of NEP, NEP: Provisions for Professional Courses- Issues & Challenges, NEP and Learning Outcomes w.r.t. National Higher Education Framework, Learning Environment In Post Covid Time, Managing in an era of uncertainty: technological, social and ethical ramification, Smart Technology and Data Privacy, Crypto currency a new era in virtual labor market and legal issues, E-Commerce- Emerging Technologies in post COVID World and its implications for Employment and Virtual Labor Market, Artificial Intelligence & its applications in Education, Law and Management, Turnitin as a tool to ensure Ethics & research writing, Initiatives of GoI in effective implementation of NEP, Understanding Research Metrics & how to find relevant journal to write research paper & publish in journals, Managing References made easy using Mendeley, Initiatives of GoI in effective implementation of NEP and Designing the Research Project.

The concluding remarks were then delivered by Prof. (Dr.) Anil Parkash Sharma. Hon’ble Director, IIMT, who very eloquently explained the use of technology in education will empower teachers to leverage an array of resources to provide more focused personalized learning to students. He applauded the efforts of the organizing committee in their articulate choice of topic and of the fluent collaboration between the two institutions in the successful execution of the program. Prof. Sharma also referred to the key points put forward by the Prof. K. G.Suresh, Hon’ble chief guest for the session.. he appreciated the dedication of Ms. Jasmandeep Kaur, Sr. Assistant Professor, IIMT as the organizing secretary and also for discharging her duties with sincerity.

Dr Seema Nath Jain, Principal, BBA, IIMT, Delhi proposed a formal vote of thanks to Prof. K.G. Suresh, chief guest of the valedictory session and also applauded the meticulous organisation of the FDP by both the collaborating institutions. At the same time, she conveyed her gratitude to all the speakers for enriching sessions & appreciated the support of the administration for such faculty development programmes in the university.
