Damdami Taksal spokesman Prof. Sarchand Singh Khyala joins BJP

AMRITSAR: Spokesman of Damdami Taksal and former acting president of Sikh Students Federation (Mahita) Prof. Sarchand Singh Khiala today joined Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) in the presence of Punjab BJP in-charge and Union Minister Gajinder Singh Shekhawat and Som Prakash.

He has been working with former Akali Minister Bikram Singh Majithia for a long time and has been associated with Damdami Taksal.

Speaking on the occasion Prof. Sarchand Singh Khiala said that it was the Prime Minister Mr Narendra Modi who recognized the pulse of the Sikhs, showed seriousness towards the Sikh community and proved his benevolence by doing many things. Seeing his good attitude towards the Sikh community, he has decided to join the BJP and play his role for the Panth and Punjab.

He said that Modi had taken many good steps in understanding the sentiments of the people. This includes withdrawing controversial agricultural laws.

He was serious about punishing the perpetrators of the November 1984 Sikh genocide, including the opening of the Kartarpur corridor and the celebration of Veer Bal Diwas dedicated to the martyrdom of the young princes. He said that Prime Minister Modi was to launch several important projects for the development of Punjab through Ferozepur Rally.

Mr. Arvind Sharma District General Secretary, Mr. Gaggandip Singh AR Advocate, Mr. Harpreet Singh Happy Sandhu Sarpanch, Mr. Bhagya Sharma, Mr. Kartik Sharma etc. were present on the occasion.
