Construction work of 1400 rooms for the sangat arriving at the Golden Temple begins

AMRITSAR: The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) today inaugurated the construction of a 1400-room Sangat Niwas at Amritsar in the presence of prominent personalities.

The residence will be constructed on the site of Purani Hansli near Ram Talai Chowk, which is dedicated to the 400th anniversary of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, the Ninth Patshah. Inaugurating the function today, Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) President Bibi Jagir Kaur said that work was underway to increase the number of Saravas at various places for the pilgrims visiting Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib. Under this a new house with 1400 rooms is being constructed on the site of the old clavicle.
She said that the car service has been handed over to Baba Kashmir Singh Bhuriwalia and the seven storied house would be constructed as per the existing facilities. It will have parking for 300 cars on the ground floor. In addition, a canteen will be set up inside the house.

 Bibi Jagir Kaur said that some saras were also started near Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib, but with this huge house near Chowk Ram Talai, the problem of accommodation for the sangat would be solved to a large extent.
 She  also said that arrangements would be made to take the sangat from this place to Darbar Sahib.
On this occasion Giani Gurminder Singh, Granthi Singh Sahib of Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib recited Sri Anand Sahib and Bhai Gurcharan Singh prayed for commencement of Karseva.
Meanwhile, Shiromani Committee President Bibi Jagir Kaur also conferred titles on Baba Kashmir Singh and Baba Sukhwinder Singh Karseva Bhuriwalia.
