AMRITSAR: Punjab BJP Spokesperson Prof. Sarchand Singh Khiala has expressed deep astonishment over the recent revelations made by Singh Sahib Giani Raghbir Singh, Head Granthi of Sachkhand Sri Darbar Sahib and former Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib, terming the entire episode as extremely unfortunate and alarming for Panthic dignity and maryada.
He stated that if the action taken from Sri Akal Takht Sahib on December 2, 2024, against Shiromani Akali Dal President Sukhbir Singh Badal and his associates is now being described as “designed by the BJP” in an attempt to mislead the Sikh Panth, and if any kind of pressure was exerted upon Singh Sahiban to that effect, then it is not only condemnable but a direct assault on the autonomy of Panthic institutions. One cannot imagine that anyone could stoop to such a level.
Referring to the statement of Giani Raghbir Singh, Prof. Khiala said that if he was pressured to say, “Put the entire blame of December 2 on the BJP, put it on the RSS, and say that I made a grave mistake and was misled into taking that decision, ” then this reflects not merely political dishonesty but the complete collapse of moral integrity.
