Congress to observe former PM Rajiv Gandhi's anniversary as “Seva Diwas”

CHANDIGARH: Punjab Congress to observe May 21 as “Seva Diwas” on former PM Rajiv Gandhi's death anniversary.
PPCC president Sunil Jakhar said that the country is going through an unprecedented crisis due to Covid pandemic. Lakhs of people had lost their near and dears, thousands others were battling Corona amidst shortage of resources. Raising above political considerations and irrespective of caste and creed the party will observe the anniversary as a day of service to humanity with a sense of duty.

He said that on May 21, free masks will be distributed to the people by the party workers in all the blocks and assembly constituencies across the state.
On the occasion, people will also be made aware through Facebook Live so that more and more of them can be educated about the prevention of Covid.

Jakhar asked all the MLAs, MPs, district and block office bearers to carry out the social service work following the Covid protocol. “The service to humanity would be our true tribute to former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi, he added.
