CHANDIGARH: Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee President Sunil Jakhar said that the Modi government at the Center has completely failed in Covid management. Instead of making timely arrangements to battle the pandemic, the Central govt continued to send vaccines abroad. Now when people were telling the truth or serving humanity to give relief to affected people, they were being booked and arrested by registering FIRs.
He said that the party was launching a campaign on social media against this repressive policy of the NDA government to make the people aware of the unbearable ground realities and also to make the pain of the people reach the ears of the Modi government.
Jakhar said that the National President of the Youth Congress, BV Srinivas has been questioned by the police for public welfare service. In UP the Yogi government was carrying its repressive policies by registering cases against those who raise their voice or reveal the truth. Similarly, in Delhi, when people put up posters saying 'Modi ji, why did you send our children's vaccines abroad', the Delhi Police have registered FIRs against the people and quickly held them also.
The State Congress President said that on this issue Congress ex-president Rahul Gandhi has raised his voice firmly to condemn the arrests of people by the Modi government. He said that in this regard all the MLAs, MPs, district and block leaders of the party besides other workers have been urged to send messages like 'Modi ji, why did you send our children’s vaccine abroad' and ‘Arrest me too' on social media.
