AMRITSAR: The booklet 'Sri Akal Takht Sahib-Introduction' published by the Dharam Prachar Committee was released by Jathedar Giani Harpreet Singh, Jathedar Akal Takht, Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee President Bibi Jagir Kaur and other prominent personalities at the Secretariat Sri Akal Takht Sahib.
While releasing the booklet, Giani Harpreet Singh, Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib said that its release on the occasion of Foundation Day of Sri Akal Takht Sahib is all the more important. He said that it was the need of the hour to acquaint the Sangat with the history and traditions of the institutions of the Sikh Panth and it was a commendable initiative of the SGPC to continuously distribute non-donated literature among the Sangat.
Speaking on the occasion SGPC President Bibi Jagir Kaur said that besides publishing various historical pamphlets, the Shiromani Akali Dal has also intensified its efforts to republish the best old printed books. Under this, some books have been republished and more important books will be reprinted in future.
This booklet is written by Bhai Mohan Singh Urlana, Retired Granthi of Sri Akal Takht Sahib. It contains information related to Sri Akal Takht Sahib.
