CHANDIGARH: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Punjab has launched a statewide countdown campaign to expose the false and failed promise made by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, who had publicly claimed that Punjab would be drug-free by 31st May 2025.
With only four days remaining, BJP has questioned the AAP government’s silence and failure to produce results. Rather than improvement, Punjab continues to reel under a drug epidemic, with increasing overdose deaths, smuggling, and ruined families, especially in border districts.
“This countdown is a people’s audit, ” said Avinash Rai Khanna, Former MP, MLA & Ex State President BJP Punjab. “Every day until 31st May, we will ask one question: Where is the drug-free Punjab?”
The campaign includes:
• Daily social media updates and posters exposing ground realities
• Stories of affected families
• Visits to high-risk villages
• Hashtags like #31MayCountdown and #NashaMuktJhoot
Khanna has challenged the Chief Minister to hold a public press conference on 31st May and either show proof of success or admit his failure.
The party also demanded a white paper on drug seizures, rehabilitation data, and actual progress made.
“This is not just a campaign — it’s a wake-up call. Punjab’s youth are dying while the AAP government makes hollow claims, ” BJP stated.
