PHAGWARA: Phagwara, May 9 – In light of the escalating tension at the India-Pakistan international border, the Bar Association Phagwara has declared ‘No Work’ in all courts today.

The decision was taken unanimously during an emergent meeting of the Executive Body of the Bar Association, chaired by President Ravinder Sharma. The Association cited serious difficulties faced by litigants and advocates traveling from border areas, as well as the prevailing sensitive situation, as the primary reasons for suspending work.

The Bar further urged all Hon’ble Judicial and Revenue Courts not to pass any adverse orders today in cases where lawyers or litigants are unable to appear or proceed with matters, given the extraordinary circumstances.

This resolution follows the order of the Deputy Commissioner, Kapurthala, who directed the closure of schools across the district on May 9 and 10 due to the deteriorating situation along the border.

Bar members have been requested to strictly comply with the resolution and maintain solidarity during this period of regional concern.
