AMRITSAR: Deputy Commissioner of Amritsar district, Mrs. Sakshi Sahni, has been transferred from Amritsar as the Chief Administrator of Greater Mohali Area Development Authority and given a bigger responsibility. She will be replaced by 2017 batch IAS officer Mr. Dalwinderjit Singh , who is currently the Deputy Commissioner of Gurdaspur.
Mrs. Sahni Who took charge of Amritsar district in September 2024, has proven her mettle by leading the district during the recent floods, when the Indo-Pakistan border district was facing great danger under Operation Sandhur. During the Indo-Pak tensions, she ensured the safety of the residents of Amritsar district by staying awake at night and coordinating well with the army, while also providing timely help and rescue operations by directly reaching out to the flood-affected people.
While taking charge herself, she took all the officers along and took care of the flood-affected families as a family member, which was discussed in the media all over the world.
Sakshi Sahni, who is always ready to help the needy, has introduced many new initiatives in the district , Future Tycoon was started to make enthusiastic youths job providers , Kisan Hero Card for progressive farmers , Dan Utsav , honoring transgenders who do welfare work on the occasion of Republic Day , ensuring the participation of children from Pingalwara and other institutions with special needs in national programs , these are the programs that he started in the district. Due to such works done in the interest of the people, he will remain in the minds of the district residents for a long time.
