Alumni meet organized at Sainik School Kapurthala

KAPURTHALA: Alumni meet was organized at Sainik School Kapurthala today, in which Uttarakhand Governor Laf. General (Retd.) Gurmeet Singh arrived as the chief guest.

The tributes were paid to the great soldiers who were martyred while protecting the security and interests of the country at the martyrdom site at Sainik School, Kapurthala. Earlier A Guard of Honor was presented to him by the NCC students of the contingent while a splendid band display was presented by the students of Sainik School.

Sharing his experiences with the students, the Governor said that after studying here from 1967 to 73, Vidya's dream has come true by coming to this temple.

Appreciating the efforts being made by 33 Sainik Schools across the country to prepare the youth for the security of the country, he said that the decision to strengthen these schools to 100 would prove to be an important step in the coming times.

On this occasion a new tractor was also presented to the school on behalf of the alumni. Earlier the ADC General Aditya Uppal welcomed the Governor on behalf of Punjab Government.
