AMRITSAR: Giani Raghbir Singh Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht has termed the incident of death of a Punjabi youth and serious injuries of several others due to the direct bullets fired by the Haryana police on the farmers near Khanuri as extremely tragic.

He said that these farmers are the breadwinners of the country, not intruders from an enemy country, at whom the government is firing direct bullets and piercing their chests and heads. The tactics used by the government to prevent them from going to Delhi and protesting under their democratic right is in no way less than the oppression of Indians by the British government in Jallianwale Bagh.

The Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib said that the government should leave its stubborn attitude and immediately accept the rightful demands of the farmers so that the food producing farmers of the country can leave the struggle and return to their work.

In a statement issued by the Akal Takht Sahib Secretariat, Giani Raghbir Singh said that for the past few days, the farmers of Punjab have been demanding other rights from the central government, including the minimum support price of their commodities, but the government is turning a blind eye. From which it is becoming clear that the central government does not want to solve the problems of farmers. His intention is bad.

If the government was serious, there would have been talks to resolve the issue, there would have been no firing. For the solution of any issue, a favorable environment is first created.", he added.

The atmosphere could be created if the barricades were removed from the Punjab-Haryana border. Sharp suitors were not deployed facing the farmers. Canes, bullets, tear gas shells and water cannons are not released on the farmers. He further said that the slogan of the people of our country is, 'Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan', because the Jawan guards the borders of the country and the farmer fills the belly of the country by growing grain in the fields. But how sad that today our jawans are guarding the borders and are eating enemy bullets and farmers are being shot dead by the police of their own country when their own government asks for their rights, which is an extremely unfortunate phenomenon for a democratic country. is Such undemocratic behavior is not good for the future of the country.
