AAP winning by-election no big deal, AAP misused entire official machinery: Raja Warring

PUNJAB NEWS EXPRESS | June 23, 2025 08:44 PM

CHANDIGARH: Punjab Congress president Amarinder Singh Raja Warring today said that there was nothing special about the ruling Aam Aadmi Party winning the Ludhiana West by-election as it has used all the official machinery for the purpose.

In an informal conversation with reporters here today, Warring said, the party will however do a serious introspection about the result.

Warring asserted that the Congress remains strong right up to the grassroots, saying that the Ludhiana West by-election result is not any indicator and not a big deal.

He pointed out that the AAP got a devastating drubbing in the General Elections just a year ago, when it lost ten of the 13 parliamentary seats in Punjab. He said, Congress won seven seats and could have won two more, which it lost by slim margins only.

Earlier in his message to the party workers, the PCC president said, ”I acknowledge and appreciate the Congress workers in Ludhiana West for putting up the best fight against all odds when it was against the entire government machinery”.

Asserting that there was no big deal about the result, he said, “this, after all, was just a by-election. Our fight will continue and we will take it to the logical conclusion in 2027”.
