A 2-Day Workshop on Drone Technology was held at KCET

AMRITSAR: A two-day workshop on Drone Technology was organized at Khalsa College of Engineering and Technology (KCET), Amritsar with the aim of promoting practical learning, innovation, and entrepreneurship among students.

The training was in the Computer Science Department, drawing enthusiastic participation from over 100 students and faculty members of the ECE, CSE, AIML, and BCA departments.

The sessions were led by Er. Vaibhav Varun, Managing Director, Aviakul Private Limited, New Delhi, a renowned aviation expert and international speaker. The workshop began with a comprehensive introduction to drone design, aerodynamics, components, and sensors. Participants gained valuable theoretical knowledge on Day 1, followed by immersive hands-on sessions on Day 2, which included assembling quadcopters, configuring flight controllers, and conducting successful indoor test flights.

Dr. Manju Bala Director, KCET lauded the initiative and said, that Drone technology is redefining industries from agriculture to defense, and our students must be future-ready to adapt and lead. She added that this workshop is a step forward in bridging classroom knowledge with real-world applications.

She further appreciated the practical structure of the event and emphasized that such platforms ignite curiosity and foster innovation among young minds.

She further emphasized that such initiatives reflect the institution’s commitment to blending academic knowledge with industry-driven applications and preparing students for global opportunities.

The workshop not only enhanced technical understanding but also encouraged students to think creatively about the use of drones in areas like agricultural monitoring, disaster response, surveillance, and AI-integrated systems. Many expressed interest in developing drone-based prototypes and participating in upcoming national competitions.

Rajinder Mohan Singh Chhina, Honorary Secretary, KCCS, appreciated the efforts of the Director and her team in organizing such a progressive initiative. He stated that training sessions like these inspire youth to move from being job seekers to job creators. He further added that integrating innovation with education is the need of the hour
