MOHALI: Rayat Bahra Group of Institutes, in partnership with the Institute of Nutrigenetics and Nutrigenomics Research (INNR), announced the launch of India’s first comprehensive Nutrigenetics program. This pioneering initiative aims to offer cutting-edge education and research opportunities in the rapidly evolving field of Nutrigenetics, which explores the relationship between nutrition and genetics.
The RBU has also decided to introduce an extensive Cancer Biology program in North India. This marks the first time such a comprehensive curriculum, including B Sc, M Sc., and PhD courses, is being offered in the region.
Gurvinder Singh Bahra, Chancellor of the RBU, announcing this here today said the Nutrigenetics program includes a range of courses designed to cater to various levels of academic and professional aspirations and includes B.Sc., M.Sc., Ph.D. and Diploma and certificate courses.
The collaboration with INNR brings a wealth of expertise and resources to the program. INNR is renowned for its research in nutritional genomics and personalized nutrition. This partnership ensures that students receive education and training that is aligned with the latest scientific advancements and industry standards, he added.
Bahra said in a big initiative the RBU has decided to introduce an extensive Cancer Biology program in North India. This marks the first time such a comprehensive curriculum, including BSc., MSc., and PhD courses, is being offered in the region. This initiative aims to revolutionize medical education and research, positioning North India as a leader in cancer studies.
Vice-Chancellor Dr Parvinder Singh said the courses are designed by experts to provide comprehensive knowledge and practical skills, access to advanced laboratories and research centers and the graduates will be well-equipped for careers in academia, research, healthcare, and the biotechnology industry.
Dr Pulakes Purkait head translational health sciences said the Cancer Biology program, which is being started in collaboration with the Institute of Translational Health Sciences (ITHS), offers a thorough exploration of cancer from its molecular underpinnings to therapeutic strategies, designed to cater to undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral students.
This collaboration between ITHS and RBU is poised to make significant contributions to cancer research and education in North India. By offering a robust Cancer Biology program, we aim to nurture the next generation of scientists and healthcare professionals who will lead the fight against cancer, Dr Pulakes added.
