PATIALA: Under Punjab Government's "Ghar Ghar Rozgar" mission various job fairs are being organized throughout the State. In September-2020 a High end Virtual Job Fair was organized in which 24 top Multinational Companies from all over India participated. Top IT Companies like Microsoft, HCL and Byjus Collaborated with any State Government for the first time and offered engineering and management graduates a package of Rs.3.5 Lack P.A. to Rs. 43 Lack P.A. 37 eligible candidates were selected from Punjab out of which five candidates belonged to district Patiala.
Three candidates namely Sh. Sanyam Chhabra, Sh. Rohan Ahuja and Sh. Ankit Kaushik got a package of Rs.3.5 Lack P.A. in HCL Technologies and Two candidates from Punjabi University namely Sh. Karandeep Singh and Sh. Karanvir Singh got placed at Byjus at the Package of Rs.10 lack P.A.
A virtual felicitation programme was organized by the department of Employment Generation, Skill Development and Training, Punjab on 18-12-2020 which was graced by Cabinet Minister Sh. Charanjit Singh Channi with his presence and "Certificates of Appreciation" were presented to the selected candidates. Further he motivated the candidates by promising such endeavours by the government in future.
During this programme the University Recruitment Leader from Microsoft Miss. Sonia Sehgal, Head Campus Relations from HCL Sh. Ashish Bhalla and Recruitment Manager from Byjus Sh. Sachin Girdhar inspired the candidates by their presence. On behalf of department Director, Employment Generation Skill Development & Training, Punjab Sh. Harpreet Singh Sudan (I.A.S) Director congratulated the candidates and promised to sincerely work on the Skill Gap as demanded by the Multinational Companies to increase the selection ratio from the region.
In the end vote of thanks was presented by Dr. Sandeep Singh Kaura Advisor, Skill Development, Punjab.
