BATALA:Dr. Harbhajan Singh, retired SMO, Elected District President of Gurdaspur Academy of Paediatrics. Dr. Rames Kumar R, National President Indian Academy of Pediatrics (IAP) inaugurated 342 branches of IAP during a workshop. In which Dr. Harbhajan Singh was unanimously elected as President, Dr. Gurkhel Singh Kalsi as Vice President, Dr. Amit Agarwal General Secretary and Dr. Prerna Mahajan was given the charge of treasurer.
Talking on this occasion, Dr. Harbhajan Singh and Dr. Gurkhel Singh Kalsi said that today the Gurdaspur Academy of Pediatrics, a branch of medicine dealing with children and their diseases, has been started and about 30 members have been included from Batala, Kahnuwan, Dinanagar, Gurdaspur and Dera Baba Nanak.
He further said that timely and continuous medical education is provided from IAP and others are made aware of the child's illness by becoming aware of it. He said that information about medical science is available from time to time. He said that the number of members of the Indian Academy of Pediatrics is more than the members of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
On this occasion Dr. Harvinder Singh, Dr. Harpreet Singh Nagi, Member Punjab, Himachal Pradesh T Dr. Lectures were given during the workshop by Arun Prasad member Chandigarh and on this occasion experts from Pathankot district also arrived.
