AMRITSAR: Uttarakhand Governor Lieutenant General (Retd) Gurmeet Singh today paid obeisance at Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib and expressed his devotion to Guru Sahib.
On this occasion, SGPC President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami welcomed Gurmeet Singh at the Information Center of Sri Darbar Sahib and honored him with a Siropa, a golden model of Sri Darbar Sahib and religious books.
SGPC President Advocate Dhami said that Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib is the center of faith for the entire humanity, where a large number of devotees from home and abroad pay homage every day.
He said that every Sikh pays homage at this holy place to thank Guru Sahib for his achievements. Today, Uttarakhand Governor Gurmeet Singh, who is a native village of Amritsar district, has reached Sri Darbar Sahib to pay homage today. Advocate Dhami said that discussions were also held with Governor Gurmeet Singh regarding the holy places related to Sikhs in Uttarakhand, to which he responded positively.
Meanwhile, Governor Gurmeet Singh said that it is only due to the blessings of the Guru that one has got the privilege of visiting this holy place.
He said that this is the door from where the entire humanity gets the message of unity.
He feels new energy after visiting this holy place. He prayed at the feet of Guru Patshah Ji for the people of Uttarakhand and the entire country.
On this occasion, SGPC Chief Secretary Kulwant Singh Mannan, OSD Satbir Singh, Secretary Balwinder Singh Kahlwan, Deputy Secretary Harbhajan Singh Wakta, Manager Narinder Singh Mathrewal, Information Officer Amritpal Singh, Governor S. Gurmeet Singh along with ADC Amit Srivastava, AIG Jagjit Singh Walia, ADCP Harpal Singh and others were present.
