MATTEWAL (MAJITHA): Senior leader of Shiromani Akali Dal and former minister Mr Bikram Singh Majithia has said that Rahul Gandhi has made Charanjit Singh Channi a candidate for the post of Chief Minister and has made PPCC President Navjot Sidhu a true pappu.

On this occasion Sardar Majithia included the family of senior Congress leaders Tarsem Singh and Gurmeet Singh among others in the Akali Dal. Accompanying him were Harpinder Singh, Tarsem Singh, Mukhtiar Singh, Mandhir Singh, Sardul Singh and many others who joined the Akali Dal.
Advocate Surinder Singh, a two-time president of the Baba Bakala Association, also joined the Akali Dal along with his associates. Among them about 50 families of Surinder Singh Randhawa, Jassa Singh, Pala Singh, Jaswinder Singh, Gurmeet Singh, Kashmir Singh, Balwinder Singh, Sohan Singh etc. left the Congress and joined the Akali Dal.
At an election rally in Mattewal, Sarpanch Sarabjit Kaur thanked Sardar Majithia for the development of Mattewal and Majitha constituencies.
