Voter awareness program conducted at Attari border
AMRITSAR: Elections are an important lesson in any democratic country and we all should actively participate in the elections.
This was revealed by Binu Dhillon, a famous actor of Bollywood and Punjabi films, today in a mega voter awareness event organized by the district administration at Attari border 24 Kilometre from here today.
He said that this time polls are to be held in Punjab on June 1 and it is our duty to exercise our right to vote on this day. Appealing to the youth, he said that the youth are the backbone of our country and the strength of democracy depends on how aware the youth are.
He said that the youth of Punjab must use the right to vote on the voting day to achieve the seventy percent voting target set by the Election Commission this time.
On this occasion, Additional Deputy Commissioner Ms. Paramjit Kaur and Binu Dhilo also administered an oath to the youth to use their vote wisely.
In this mega event organized at Attari Border, Rangoli by artists, Culture program by artist Harinder Sohal, Nook Natak by Azad Bhagat Singh Virasat Manch and Sweep Giddha by School of Eminence, Mall Road were presented. On this occasion, the rangoli prepared by the district administration remained the center of attraction of the people, which was giving the message to those coming and going to participate in the votes. Famous artist Harinder Sohal presented songs of voter awareness and patriotism on this occasion.
On which people were forced to jump School of Eminence, Mall Road presented a very effective sweep gidha.
.On this occasion, Additional Deputy Commissioner Mrs. Paramjit Kaur said that the Election Commission of India is conducting continuous sweep activities to make voters aware and such activities will continue in the future as well. The Election Commission of India has decided to celebrate the elections as a festival, that is why the Election Commission has made 'Chonas da Parv, Desh da Garav' as the slogan of the Lok Sabha Elections-2024. He said that the district administration is completing all necessary arrangements for the convenience of the voters.
On this occasion SDM Lal Vishwas Bais, Nodal Officer Sweep-cum-District Education Officer (SEC) Rajesh Kumar, Chon Kanungo Rajinder Singh, Saurabh Khosla, District Sweep Team Member Pankaj Sharma, Munish Kumar, Ashu Dhawan, Ashu Vishal, Sanjay Kumar and Others were also present.
