NAKODAR:On a complaint of Firozepur Village Ghalkhurad resident girl, the Nakodar city police have arrested a woman on the charges of forcing girls into prostitution.
Station House Officer (SHO) Manjit Singh said that the accused has been identified as Jasbir Kaur Jassi wife of Kuldip Singh residing at Malarri village.
The complainant told before the police that the accused was a member of a dance group in which she was working and after the lockdown lured her to come to her for a job.
The complaint said that she and her cousin reached Malarri village where they were forced into the prostitution business and were tortured whenever they refused her dictate.
SHO said that after receiving the complaint the police conducted raid and arrested the accused and rescued another girl from her custody.
A case under sections 370(trafficking of person), 384(extortion) and 342(wrongful confinement ) of the Indian Penal Code have been registered against the accused.(EOM)
