Two drug peddlers arrested with 1.300 kg opium

SHAHKOT: The Shahkot police have arrested two drug peddlers with huge quantity of opium.

The Station House Officer (SHO) Surindar Kumar Kamboj told media that the Shahkot police intercepted a car (PB-05AK 6019) at a Naka near River Sutlej bridge in which two occupants were travelling who were carrying 1 kilogram and 300 grams opium in their vehicle .The accused have been identified as Karaj Singh son of Jaswindar Singh and Gursab Singh son of Balwant Singh residents of Talwandi Nau Bahar village under Kot Esse Khan police station in Moga.

SHO said that a case under section 18-(B)/21/61/85 of the NDPS Act has been registered against the accused and impounded their vehicle that were produced in a Nakodar court which remanded them to police custody for three days
