Three arrested for snatching

NAKODAR:The Nakodar city police have arrested three miscreants on the charge of snatching.The Station House Officer (SHO) Jatindar Kumar said that the accused have been identified as Lavindar Singh alias Laadi son of Jasvir Singh a resident of Tower colony Mahat Pur and Rustam a resident of Navi Aabadi Nakodar and Varindar son of Gurmukh a resident of Mohalla Bazigar Nakodar.

Gurmit Lal a resident of Jandiala village under sadar Jamsher police station complained to the police that the accused Laadi snatched Rs 2000 and a mobile hand set from him on March 31.

Ranjit Rai a resident of Adda Mehat Pur Nakodar complained to the police that the accused Rustam and Varindar tried to snatch his mobile hand set on April 2 and he caught both on the spot

SHO said cases under section 379-B (snatching) and 34 (committing crime with common intention) of the IPC have been registered against the accused.

Increasing incidents of snatching have created a sense of insecurity among residents and put a question mark on police functioning.
