Phagwara telecom shop looters at gunpoint loot cash of Rs 1.5 lac

PHAGWARA:The incidents of looting at the point of a pistol are on the rise in the city of Phagwara.
Unidentified armed robbers targeted a mobile shop about 200 meters from Phagwara city police station city and looted cash worth Rs 1.5 lakh from the shop Owner Satwinder Singh at pistol point after 9.30 PM last night.
Disclosing this here today, Satwinder Singh, Owner of Singh Tel, said that he was preparing to leave his shop as usual and was collecting money , when
three persons entered the shop with their faces and their heads covered. He said that as soon as they arrived, a robber pulled out a revolver and asked him to hand over all the money .

According to the information received from the spot, the watchman present outside the Akali Gurdwara Market who was still on duty said that four youths came on two motorcycles while one youth remained on the motorcycle and three youths went inside. He did not have any clue about the robbery as the robbers went to the side of the shop with great ease and came out comfortably and they found out only after the incident.
SP Phagwara Manvinder Singh and SHO City Onkar Singh Brar along with the police party reached the spot and got information from the spot. Police are currently scouring the area for CCTV cameras and a CCTV camera shows three youths walking out of the shop and throwing shutters. SHO Brar said that the police has started investigation into the matter and has started investigation from various angles.
Notable this was The fourth incident at gunpoint in Phagwara on the second day.
Earlier A youth was shot and injured by youths in a vehicle on Kotrani Road here yesterday. In another incident, the owner of a mobile shop near Banga Road crematorium was shot dead and injured. The third incident took place around a wedding party when two armed snatchers snatched a gold chain from a married womana scooter at gunpoint yesterday and the fourth incident took place at a telecom shop late last night.Though the police had registered cases but the increasing crime in phagwara during corona pandemic has developed panic among the residents.(EOM)
