Three gang members arrested for duping people for government jobs

CHANDIGARH: Chandigarh Police has arrested three persons, all members of a gang duping people in the name of providing government jobs. The gang members lured job seekers in Chandigarh, Punjab and Haryana.

The accused has been identified as Balbir Singh, 45, of Sangrur, Gopal Singh alias Harman, 35, of New Sunny Enclave Kharar and Manoj, 41 of Kharar. They were arrested on Saturday from ISBT 43. They were sent on two days police custody.

Police had received a complaint from Gagandeep Singh of Patiala. He was duped by the gang on the promise of giving forest gurad job. Gagandeep and hsi friend had given Rs.2 lakhs to accused who proviced a joining letter. The forest department however said that letter was forged and there was no vacancy in the department.

The accused told police that they used to scan the original letters and change the names on laptop in mansa, Police also recovered scanned PDF file of the forged letter from their mobile.
