International Conference on Emerging Technologies organised at NITTTR

CHANDIGARH:  Online International Conference on Emerging Technologies: Artificial Intelligence (IA), Internet of Things (IOT) and Cyber Physical Systems (CPS) for Science & Technology Applications was jointly organised by Department Electrical and Department of Electronics Engineering, National Institute of Technical Teachers Training & Research (NITTTR) Chandigarh.

The main objective of the conference was to bring together the academicians, scientists, professionals, researcher scholars from national and international institutions, universities, laboratories and industries to exchange views, experiences, new innovative ideas.

The two days long  (6-7th September 2021)  conference was inaugurated by Prof. Rajeev Ahuja, Director, IIT Ropar. "AI, IOT and Cyber Physical systems are playing vital role in our day to day activities. Punjab being an agriculturally advanced state, must apply these technologies in growth of agriculture and agriculture based industry in Punjab, " said he while emphasing the usage of emerging technologies in the State.

Guest of honour Dr. Biplab Sikdar, Vice-Dean & Area Director (Communications & Networks), from National University of Singapore delivered the keynote address and emphasised the importance of AI and machine learning in various current and prospective applications. He particularly discussed about security in machine learning systems.

Director NITTTR, Chandigarh Prof. S.S Pattnaik said that the conference aims to provide an international forum to promote, enhance and stimulate international research interactions and collaboration in their respective fields.

Prof. S.S Gill, Prof. Piush Verma and Dr. Balwinder Raj, the organisers of the conference mentioned that they received 115 research papers within and outside the country and after rigorous review process, 85 papers have been selected for oral presentation. They informed that presented papers will be published in Scopus Indexed Conference proceedings and some of the best papers will be considered for publication in prestigious book series of Taylor & Francis  and Scopus indexed journals .

Prof Piush Verma proudly mentioned that five key note speakers from international institutions of repute will deliver their expert talk and from each session one best paper will be awarded.

Prof S.S Gill elaborated on the strengths of the Department of ECE and emphasised on joint projects and collaborative interdisciplinary research for nation building.

 Prof Lini Mathew mentioned about the R & D facilities in the Department of Electrical Engineering while Dr. Balwinder Raj extended the vote of thanks to the august gathering.
