CHANDIGARH: Panjab University Geology Emeritus Prof Dr SB Bhatia PhD
Imperial College London, FNA, died at the age of 91. A great teacher
and an eminent Geologist has gone. A huge loss to global geoscience
community. He founded Geology Department, Panjab University,
Chandigarh, in 1959 together with MR Sahni. He breathed his last on
Sunday morning at Panchkula in Haryana.
He was ailing for some years
but still active in research. His last research publication came last
year. His going up in the library of Geology Dept with slight support
till 2019 touched all youngsters. A rare spirit who inspired several
generations at Lucknow and Chandigarh. Shashi Bhushan Bhatia will be
ever remembered.
