CHANDIGARH: The health condition of legendary sprinter Milkha Singh and his wife Nirmal, deteriorated on Friday with a drop in her oxygen level.
Milkha Singh is admitted in the PGI Chandigarh and wife is admitted in Fortis hospital Mohali. Milkah Singh who was earlier admitted in Fortis hospital was sent home two days back and later admitted to PGI after he complained of breathing problem.
"The condition of Mrs Milkha Singh has deteriorated with progression of disease and increase in oxygen requirement. She is presently on HFNC (high flow nasal cannula) and NIV (non-invasive ventilator) intermittently, " the Fortis Hospital said in a statement.
Nirmal, 82, was admitted to the hospital last week after she had developed Covid-19 pneumonia.
Prime Minister Narender Modi today talked to Milkha Singh over phone and wished him fast recovery.
