CHANDIGARH: The Chandigarh Housing Board is all set to cracks whip on the balance payment defaulters of houses constructed by the Board in various sectors. A spokesman of the Board said that those who were allotted houses under small flat scheme and under affordable housing rental failed to deposit their balance amounts for long time were asked to deposit the amount along with 12 per cent interest within 15 days.

A number of defaulters have not been paying installments since long. It is stated in the notices that in case of failure in depositing the whole amounts, the Board would start proceedings for cancellation of allotment. Earlier, the Board has given a number chance to the defaulters but despite that number of allottees did not heed the warning of the Board.

Allottees can generate challan on the Board’s website and deposit the amount in the branch of HDFC bank. Besides, they can deposit the amount by clicking the option of payment on its website.
