MOHALI: Top medical and dental experts from across the country participated in the two-day 4th Neuro Socio Psycho Rehab (NSPR) conference organized by the Rayat Bahra University.
Prof Surender Kashyap, Vice-Chancellor of the Atal Medical and Research University, Himachal Pradesh, was the Chief Guest at the conference while Dr Jasbinder Kaur, Director-Principal of the Government Medical College and Hospital, Sector-32, Chandigarh, and Dr Subodh Kumar, Member-Secretary of the Rehabilitation Council of India, were the guests of honour.
Prof Kashyap lauded the initiative of the Rayat Bahra University in organizing the conference and expressed optimism that the deliberations at the two-day conference would immensely benefit both specialists in different disciplines be it medical, dental or nursing.
The theme of the conference was `Professional Ethics in Practice of Rehabilitation’ and it was virtual (as per COVID-19 situation). The Medicine Rehabilitation Research Committee of the Rayat Bahra University and South Asian Behavioral Health Foundation, Concord, SFO, USA, invited scientific papers for the conference.
The conference was organized jointly by the All India Pingalwara Charitable Society, Amritsar, National Rehabilitation Institute (NRI), Chandigarh, South Asian Behavioral Health (SABH) Foundation, in association with CRIKC, Chandigarh and the Indian Music Therapy Studies and Research Centre (Factorize).
Gurvinder Singh Bahra, Chancellor of the Rayat Bahra University, was the chief patron of the conference while Dr Parvinder Singh, Vice-Chancellor of RBU, Padma Shri Dr D Behehra, Department of Pulmonary Medicine, PGIMER, Chandigarh, were patrons of the conference. Dr Neena Mehta, Dr Jaimanti Bakshi, Head of the Department of ENT (Unit II), PGIMER, Chandigarh, and Dr Dharam Vir, Assistant Professor in the Department of ENT, PGIMER, were conference chairpersons.
Experts and scholars of excellence in their domains presented their papers under dental, neuro, psycho, socio, linguistic, speech, language, audiology, nursing, MLT, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, music therapy, human factors and patient safety, pulmonary, pediatrics, ENT, psychiatry, nursing and general category either in the oral or poster modes.
The oral platform presentations were limited to PG, PhD, Research Fellows, MBBS students and practicing professionals. Papers submitted for oral presentation were considered for poster presentation.
