Students of Khalsa institutions bring laurels by winning Bronze in Handball in Uzbekistan

AMRITSAR: The students of Khalsa institutions have brought laurels for their school/college and the country by winning Bronze in Handball cup held in Uzbekistan.The students of Khalsa College and Khalsa College Senior Secondary School Gursevak Singh and Taranjit Singh respectively showed their mettle in the sport by defeating Kazakhstan by 34-29 in the second match and by 36-20 in the third match.

Welcoming the achievement of the students, Rajinder Mohan Singh Chhina, Honorary Secretary of the Khalsa College Governing Council said that it is always an effort of the management to provide every kind of opportunity to the students of institutions running under the Council. He said that with these accolades earned at national and International competitions, it is clear that the students of the college were illuminating the names of the Khalsa institutions and the district by taking on high positions in competitions held across the world.

Khalsa College Principal Dr. Mehal Singh and Khalsa College Senior Secondary School Principal Dr. Inderjit Singh Gogoi also congratulated the students and gave special words of appreciation for Gursevak and Taranjit for their outstanding performance. The Principals also applauded the efforts of Punjab Sports Department Handball Coordinator Jaswant Singh for his hard work and dedication and emphasized on the importance of effective training for excellence in any sport. Speaking on the occasion, Daljit Singh, Bachanpal Singh also congratulated Taranjit Singh and Gursevak Singh.
