MOHALI: Rayat Bahra University University School of Education, in collaboration with NSS unit , organized a Webinar on India’s Freedom Struggle -Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav. Prof(Dr.)Parvinder Singh , Vice Chancellor, Rayat Bahra University, discussed the sequence of events that finally led to independence.
He elaborated the progress made by India , post independence in various fields like medicine, education, sports, space science , technology etc which has made it stand high among the other countries of the world. Prof.B.S.Satyal , Registrar, Rayat Bahra University, threw light on the freedom movement of Punjab. He elaborated the contribution of freedom fighters of Punjab in the struggle for independence Dr.Navneet Chopra, Head, University School of Education , delivered the welcome note intimating that the Webinar marked the launch of celebration of India’s 75 years of independence.
On 12th March 1930 , Mahatma Gandhi started the famous Dandi March. She shared that the launch of celebration marks the anniversary launch of Dandi March. She also briefly shared the timeline of events from freedom struggle, 1857 , upto independence. Dr.Gurfateh Singh, Head , University School of Pharmaceutical Sciences , Rayat Bahra University , recited a self composed poem on the freedom fighters.. Prof.(Dr.)Neena Mehta, Dean Students’ Welfare , Rayat Bahra University proposed the vote of thanks.
