MOHALI: Rayat Bahra University (RBU) has brought laurels to the institution as its NCC cadet, Senior Under Officer (SUO) Anuradha, has been conferred the prestigious Director General NCC Commendation Medal by Lt Gen Varindra Vats, VSM, YSM, SM, in New Delhi. The honour was awarded in recognition of her meritorious service and outstanding performance during the Republic Day Parade 2026.
SUO Anuradha created history by becoming the only girl cadet from the Punjab Contingent to receive this distinguished national-level honour. Her exceptional dedication, discipline, and unwavering commitment during the Republic Day Camp and Parade have earned widespread appreciation and brought immense pride to Rayat Bahra University and the NCC fraternity.
In another significant recognition, SUO Anuradha was also presented a trophy by Major General Bharat Mehtani, Additional Director General NCC, along with Group Commander Brigadier Harry Sandhu, at the Flag Area, further acknowledging her exemplary performance in NCC activities.
The university administration expressed deep pride in her achievement. Under the leadership of Chancellor Gurvinder Singh Bahra, the group Vice Chancellor prof (dr) Sanjay kumar and Pro Vice Chancellor prof (dr) S K Bansal congratulated the cadet for her remarkable accomplishment and for bringing national recognition to the university.
Director A.S. Chahal, NCC/NSS Department, lauded SUO Anuradha’s success, stating that her achievement would serve as a source of inspiration for young cadets. He also appreciated the consistent efforts of the NCC/NSS and Youth Services Department in fostering discipline, leadership, and a spirit of patriotism among students.
