Rayat Bahra University Celebrates International Women’s Day

MOHALI: The Event Club of Rayat Bahra University celebrated International Women’s Day in collaboration with the Department of Life Sciences powered by Alpha School of RBU.

The event brought together distinguished speakers, including Ms. Deepika Bahri, President of WICCI, and Ms. Sujata Pal, Associate Professor (CSE) at IIT Ropar, who shared their views on women’s empowerment, leadership, and breaking barriers in traditionally male-dominated fields.
Gurvinder Singh Bahra, Chairman of Rayat Bahra Group and Chancellor of Rayat Bahra University lauded the contributions of women in every sector. He highlighted the institution’s commitment to promoting gender equality through quality education and skill development programs.

Dr. Simerjit Kaur, Dean Students Welfare welcomed the guests and highlighted the theme of IWD-2025 stating that there is a need to create an inclusive environment where Men and Women could get equal rights and opportunities.

Sakshi Mehta, Director of Alpha School emphasized the importance of providing equal opportunities to women in education and professional spheres, fostering an inclusive and supportive environment

During their interactive sessions, Ms. Deepika Bahri and Ms. Sujata Pal encouraged students to challenge stereotypes and pursue their dreams with confidence. They emphasized the need for a progressive mindset and the role of education in empowering women to become leaders in their respective fields. Sahil Kapoor, Senior Vice President, and other senior faculty members were also present.

Deans, Directors and Heads of the departments were honoured with Award of appreciation for considering their contributions towards the uplifting of the university.

The Department of Life Sciences also honoured their faculty members for their outstanding work during the international conference-2025.

The celebration concluded with a vibrant cultural performance by the students and Nukkad Natak on fostering a more inclusive society.
