Portrait dedicated to International women's Day launched at Ludhiana

LUDHIANA: To mark the significance of International Women’s Day 2024 and acknowledge the pivotal role played by prominent Women from Ludhiana making strides in different spheres, Punjab Agricultural University Ludhiana under the patronage of Vice Chancellor Dr. Satbir Singh Gosal and Deputy Inspector General of Police, Ludhiana Range in collaboration with Sewa Sankalp Society a special event was held in Thapar Hall PAU.

A a significant portrait was dedicated to International Women’s Day 2024, depicting the theme “Inspire Inclusion- 2024” compiled by Punjab’s eminent former Additional Advocate General Punjab, Author, Nature Artist and Heritage Promoter Harpreet Sandhu was released by Vice Chancellor PAU Dr. Satbir Singh Gosal, DIG Ludhiana Dhanpreet Kaur, IPS and Padma Shri Rajni Bector with aim to recognize and applaud the tireless efforts of women who have made significant impacts in various fields which include education, healthcare, technology, arts, business, and community development and highlight the cause of gender equality.

Prominent Women of Ludhiana from different walks of life were honoured for their exemplary services rendered towards society which include Padma Shri Rajni Bector, Dhanpreet Kaur, IPS (Deputy Inspector General of Police, Ludhiana Range), Dr. Rajinder Kaur, IRS (Deputy Commissioner Income Tax), Dr. Suman Singh (Director Health Services cum Mission Director), Manisha Oswal, Dr. Vanie Thapar, Dr. Lata Mahajan Chinnan, Dr. Tanvir Sachdev, Gagan Preet Batra, Dr. S.K Maan, Nomita Khanna, Dr. Harjot Sidhu, Dr. Kavita Saggar, Aman Sandhu, Rashmi Bector, Dr. Suman Puri and Dr. Sandhya Sood.

Vice Chancellor PAU Dr. Satbir Singh Gosal said that the event aimed to highlight the pivotal role played by women within the society and we all must promote the cause of social equality and follow the International Women’s Day theme 2023 “'Inspire Inclusion”.

Deputy Inspector General of Police Dhanpreet Kaur, IPS said that main objective of today’s event was to put spotlight on the extraordinary accomplishments of women who continue to inspire and lead by example. She further stated that we must celebrate indomitable spirit and resilience of women everywhere as we work towards a future where every woman can fulfill her potential and thrive towards her ambitions.

Padma Shri Rajni Bector said that she is proud being associated with PAU since decades and congratulated the women entrepreneurs for their tremendous achievements all over the nation and above all for their successful tenures in their respective field of work.

Sewa Sankalp Society Vice President Harpreet Sandhu, Advocate said that we all need to empower Women for growth and development of our Nation and have respect for women.
