Pharma industry giants attend session at RBU

MOHALI: Industry-Academia Interaction-2020 was organized by University School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Rayat Bahra University at the University Auditorium. Students of D Pharm, B Pharm, M Pharm, PhD scholars and faculty members participated in the mega event.

The main aim and theme of this mega event was “Bridging the Gap between Industry and Academia in Pharmaceutical Education”.

Rayat Bahra University Vice-Chancellor Dr Daljit Singh welcomed the speakers from academia, industry and hospitals.

Prof SS Sharma, Professor, Pharmacology and Toxicology, NIPER, Mohali, discussed the career opportunities for Pharmacy students in industry, academia and hospitals. He dwelt on how to bridging the gap between industry and academia.

Ten senior officials speakers from various industry, hospital, academia like Gesco Healthcare Pvt. Ltd Chennai, Allign Consultancy Pvt. Ltd, Kolkata, Punjab Department of Sciences and Technology, Parexel International Pvt., Ltd., IT Park, Chandigarh, Glenmark Pharmaceutical Ltd., Unit-I Baddi, Mediconcept Healthcare Services, Quanta Distributor, Mohali, IVY Group of Hospital, IIT Ropar, NIPER, Punjabi University, Patiala were part of the industry-academia interaction.

The panel discussion session was chaired by Prof SS Sharma, Professor, Pharmacology and Toxicology, NIPER, Mohali. All experts from the industry, hospital and academia participated in the panel discussion.

The panel discussion participants included Dr Sudipta Banerjee, Vice-President Gesco Healthcare Pvt. Ltd and Director, Allign Consultancy Pvt. Ltd Prof Pawan Krishan, Professor and former Dean, Faculty of Medicine, Pharmaceutical Sciences and Drug Research Punjabi University, Patiala, Dr Vikramjeet Singh Tadwal, Senior Scientist, Parexel International Pvt. Ltd., IT Park, Chandigarh, Jalaj Mehta, Business Head, IVY Group of Hospitals, Jagpreet Singh Sidhu, Scientific Officer, Department of Chemistry, IIT Ropar, Vijay Sonam, founder and wwner, Mediconcept Healthcare Services, and Aman Mukhi, MD, Quanta Distributor, Mohali.

A vote of thanks was proposed by Dr Gurfateh Singh, Head University School of Pharmaceutical Sciences.

On this occasion Gesco Healthcare Pvt. Ltd and Allign Consultancy Pvt. Ltd signed memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Rayat Bahra University.
