PAU Retired Director Dr HK Verma Joins as KCVAS Principal

AMRITSAR: Khalsa College Governing Council (KCGC) today appointed Dr. Harish Kumar Verma, a renowned veterinary academician and retired Director, Extension Education, Punjab Agriculture University (PAU), Ludhiana as new Principal of Khalsa College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (KCVAS), Amritsar.

He joined his office in presence of top KCGC authorities including honourary secretary Rajinder Mohan Singh Chhina, finance secretary Gunbir Singh, legal secretary Ajmer Singh Heir and others.

Chhina while welcoming Dr. Verma said that after present incumbent Dr. SK Nagpal who was superannuated will continue working as Managing Director of the KCVAS. He said KCVAS was the only College in the private sector running successfully and the institution will gain from the vast experience of Dr. Verma.

A Ph.D from PAU, Dr. Verma has written 36 books and nearly 140 research papers in the diverse field of veterinary education. He has more than 35 year of teaching experience and has participated in national and international level conferences besides winning many awards and accolades. ``I am delighted to serve the KCVAS that has made its name in veterinary sciences in a short time. We will work as a team to take the institution to newer heights”, said Dr. Verma.

As Chhina asked him to devote his whole energy for the progress of the institution, he said the academics and research would be his top priorities. Joint secretary SS Mannan, MD Dr.SK Nagpal, Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh and others were present.
